JOHN DAVID NELSON
John has spent the past eighteen years making fitness accessible and enjoyable for individuals across New York, Chicago, Washington DC, and Los Angeles. With over 10,000 hours dedicated to training clients of varying ages and abilities, he's adept at helping to rehabilitate injuries, alleviate stiffness, and support women in preparing for and recovering from childbirth, all while promoting long-term health and well-being.
After relocating to Chicago from the Washington DC area in 2005, John discovered the Lotte Berk method in a quaint studio. He soon found his place at exhale, where he began teaching Core Fusion—a dynamic blend of yoga, Pilates, ballet positioning, and orthopedic stretching designed for optimal wellness. This marked the beginning of a fruitful journey in fitness that would encompass his evolving passion for yoga, cardio training, and HIIT.
Through his dedication to functional fitness, John has crafted numerous unique workshops and collaborated with esteemed organizations including Hyatt, Lululemon, and the Chicago Bulls cheerleaders, as well as with prominent media outlets like CNN and Nickelodeon.
Parallel to his fitness career, John's passion for theater has led him to invest in over a dozen Broadway productions including M Butterfly (Clive Owen), Sunset Boulevard (Glenn Close), Dreamgirls (West End), Kinky Boots (Toronto). In 2018, he took a bold step by moving to New York City to further his theater producing ambitions, collaborating with Gunnar Montana Productions and the US National Tour of Magic Mike Live.
He would be delighted to share more about his latest project!
